John Rankin (deceased 2000) began Rankin Representations in Portland, Oregon in 1955. John had been a sales person for a medical dealer in northern Oregon. He had worked with some of the very few medical manufacturer representatives that existed in those days and decided that he would try to get a few lines and see if he could build a business. He traveled the eleven western states and part of western Canada by himself until his brother Don Rankin joined him in the early sixties. The business grew and Ross Rankin, the current President of the parent company, Representations, LLC, joined the company in 1974. Today, Representations, LLC is the largest medical manufacturers representative firm operating in the ten western states from the company headquarters in Santa Ynez, CA (30 miles north east of Santa Barbara, CA).

Markets
Over the years, Representations, LLC has grown with the industry. The company has two main market areas: Hospitals and Medical/Surgical. Many of our manufacturers have utilized the services of the company for many years.

Sales People
The Representations, LLC sales people are experienced, organized, and successful. They vary in background, but were all recognized sales leaders in their previous endeavors. Representations maintains a comitted and talented team.

Staff
Representations, LLC has a highly professional inside staff to support the efforts of the sales people. Customer service is open from 8:30 AM PST to 5:00 PM Monday through Thursday and 8:30 AM to 4:00 PM on Fridays to assist our customers and manufacturers.

Systems
Representations, LLC has an extensive computer network which links the sales people and the home office. All of the sales people utilize state of the art portable computers and smartphones that keep them up to date on their customers and the communication with the entire Representations, LLC team.
